About Dr. Dwyer
Holistic Approach to Neurological Diseases
Dr. Dwyer is a Consultant Neurologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Melbourne Private Hospital and Cabrini Hospital, Malvern. He completed his training in neurology at Monash Medical Centre and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He is actively involved in the research and teaching activities of the Department of Neurology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Multiple Sclerosis & Neuroimmunology
Dr. Dwyer has a sub-speciality interest in multiple sclerosis and other immunological diseases of the central nervous system. He completed his PhD at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health and the University of Melbourne focused on the immune mechanisms of progressive multiple sclerosis.
He is actively recruiting patients for research studies, including an assessment of COVID-19 vaccine responses in MS patients.
Broad Neurological Expertise
In addition to an interest in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology, Dr. Dwyer has expertise in the treatment of a broad range of additional neurological syndromes, including chronic headache and migraine, TIA and stroke, vertigo and balance disorders, movement disorders (including Parkinson’s disease), epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases and neuropathies.
